This month we have several
performances and a 3 month course for 16+ age group.

THINK
ARTS presents
Premiere
of ThinkArts Grant Digital Productions:
3rd, 10th and 17th October - 4 pm - 5:30 pm India Time, over
Zoom.
Introducing eight new productions created for children
exclusively for the digital platform for the ThinkArts Grant for Artists &
TYA Practitioners. The premiere will be followed by a short interactive session
with the makers.
The pieces will cover languages such as Bengali, English,
Hindi, Marathi and Gibberish, and forms such as theatre, clowning, puppetry,
stop motion animation and more!
There
are no fees for the sessions but prior registration is a must.
Target age group: Although the pieces are created for ages 5
to 10, everyone is welcome to watch.

Pomegranate SWERVE presents
Pomegranate SWERVE presents Antigone 24x7, a play
entirely reimagined by young adult actors and writers!
What has Sophocles' 500 BC tragic heroine,
Antigone, been doing during the lockdown? We beam her right down to the present
entirely reimagined by young adult actors and writers (17-19 years) who inhabit
the lives of characters, some of them no older than themselves in this
classical Greek tragedy. Rife with curfews and isolation as the world falls
apart around them, they struggle to keep up shards of relationships and ideals.
Bringing alive a universal text and setting it right in the middle of a
lockdown, these performers shape a new way of theatre that transcends the stage
and enters our homes
Produced entirely as a Zoom Play set in the city
of Thebes, Antigone 24x7 delves into the motivations of emperor Creon, his son
Haemon torn between the love of his life and his father, the daughters of
Oedipus determined to protect their family honour and finally Antigone herself,
driven by a mission to overcome the odds.
With a hauntingly original music score and an
interactive audience experience, Antigone 24/7 is an immersive exploration of
the 'virtual' possibilities of theatre.
Directed by
Gerish Khemani
This unique online adaptation is by
the same cast that adapted and performed the play at NCPA in 2014 and 2016.
These teens have literally grown with the play as they adapted it at different
points in their growing years and is a unique reflection of their own journeys
as young adults
Please Note that this Digital Stream will be followed by a Live Interaction
with the Cast and the Director of the play on Zoom

2016!

Arts For Juniors, presented in collaboration with Goethe
Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata is an initiative for children to engage
with, discover and explore the world of art, music and books through a range of
diverse, exciting activities.
There
are no fees for the sessions but prior registration is a must.

Forgotten
People

In this session, we will introduce the strong artworks that Chittaprosad created to portray the forgotten people and create an engagement around the context he inhabited and its echoes in the present context, through creative responses in the form of book covers and corresponding synopses from participants inspired by his work.

Tell Me A Story
Age

We will
introduce the artist to the participants with reference to his works for
children. Taking inspiration from the 'Tell Me A Story Please' book that
Chittaprosad had worked on, we will conduct a story-building session, by
selecting a few paintings and encouraging children to come up with their own
narratives for the paintings.
